All key requests are handled by Robin Whitley. In an emergency, keys to conference rooms owned by ESE are located on the bulletin board in 148B Rosenau. Master keys are located in the key box in 148B Rosenau (mounted on the wall across from the door.)

The full procedure is below. Requests can be made via email or the Key Request Form.

Procedure – Lab keys

  1. The PI/Lab Manager responsible for that lab must either fill out the form or email Robin. The email must include the person’s name and the exact room numbers they should have access to. If the person needs access to an inner door, please use that room number. (For example, 148B rather than just 148.)
  2. Prepared lab keys are held in the manila box labeled “Keys: Non-deposit pickups” on Robin’s desk (next to the red file sorter).
  3. No signature is required.

Procedure – Student desk space keys

  1. The faculty advisor should fill out the form or email Robin to request desk space. They must include the student’s name, PID, and degree.
  2. Robin will check for available space and communicate with the space committee for approval.
  3. Once the request is approved, Robin will prepare the key and the form.
  4. Prepared keys will be held in the blue accordion file on Robin’s desk (in the red file sorter).
  5. When the student picks up their key, they must sign the form. Also get their PID if we don’t have it.
